This is going to be my last post on our EVS blog, sadly.
In perfect “Italian style”, I’ve received the classic «offer that you can’t refuse». So, shortly after passing the last part of the selection for the Irish Police Service, which is called An Garda Síochána, I’ve been sent the invitation to enter the Garda College, the place where the Trainees receive their first 8 months of training and education to become police officers.
It was totally unexpected for me to get it so soon after completing the selection! I was sure that, in case of success, I would go there in February 2020, or in December at the earliest! Yet here I am, ready (more or less) to leave Gdańsk tomorrow and to start this new, huge adventure.
I’ve had some very good time as an EVS volunteer, and Poland has been kind to welcome and host me for 4 months. But it seems that I’m not meant to live in this country unless it’s between February and June, the same period in which I was here on my Erasmus, 6 years ago 😛
It’s a pity that I have no time for that swim in the Baltic sea that I planned to take (weather now would be ideal). Who knows, it can become an excuse to come back sooner or later 😉

Questo sarà il mio ultimo post nel nostro blog SVE, purtroppo.
In perfetto „stile italiano”, ho ricevuto la classica offerta che non puoi rifiutare. In pratica, poco dopo aver superato l’ultima parte della selezione per la Polizia irlandese, An Garda Síochána, ho ricevuto l’invito ad entrare nel Garda College, il luogo dove gli Allievi ricevono i primi 8 mesi di addestramento ed educazione accademica per diventare agenti.
è stata una vera sorpresa per me riceverla così presto dopo aver completato la selezione! Ero certo che, in caso di successo, sarei entrato in febbraio 2020, o in Dicembre nel migliore dei casi. E invece eccomi qua, pronto (più o meno), a lasciare Danzica domani e a cominciare questa nuova avventura.
Ho passato dei bei momenti come volontario SVE, e la Polonia è stata gentile ad accogliermi ed ospitarmi per 4 mesi. Ma sembra che non sia destinato a vivere in questo Paese a meno che non sia il periodo tra febbraio e giugno, lo stesso lasso di tempo nel quale sono stato qui in Erasmus, 6 anni fa.
Peccato non avere il tempo di fare quel bagno nel Baltico che avevo programmato (il tempo adesso sarebbe ideale). Chissà, magari può essere una scusa per tornare, prima o poi 😛
